George Ray James, Sr, age 58, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017. A son of the late Sol James and Bobbie Gilbert, he was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. On June 29, 2008 he was united in marriage to Tammy Lynn Bevell in DeWitt by Timmy Sullens.
George received his early education in the Judsonia Elementary School and graduated in 1976 at the White County Central High School. He was a member of the Moro Full Gospel Church in Moro. Before becoming disabled he was a retired farmer and truck driver.
He is survived by 6 sons: George (Crystal) James, Jr. of Stuttgart, Bobby James of Newport, Kenneth (Mary) Ballard of Oak Grove, LA, Nathan (Rochelle) Ballard of Cabot, Matthew Ballard of Cape Girardeau, MO; 4 Daughters: Elizabeth White of Bono, AR, April James of Jonesboro, AR, Starlett Watson of Brinkley, Laura Ballard of Brinkley; 6 brothers, Jimmy Dale James of Searcy, Dennis Paul (Penny) Sullens of Palestine, Tonny Sullens of Vilonia, Timmy Lynn (Elizabeth) Sullens of Heber Springs, Ricky Simmons of Tuckerman, Kelvin Bevell of Brinkley; one sister, Melinda (Doc) Skinner of Brinkley, 23 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren, Gerald Morrow, Hanna James and Samaya Woods and two nieces, Kimberly Skinner and Amanda Edwards.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4 at the Moro Full Gospel Church from 12:00 until 2PM. Funeral Services will be at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery at Des Arc.
