George Richard Johnson, Watertown, passed away Wednesday, August 13th at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home. He was 66 years old.
Born in Watertown on November 08, 1958, he was a son to Richard and Patty (Withrow) Johnson. He was educated locally and graduated from Watertown High School. Following his graduation George worked as an appliance repairman for Strauss Electric in Watertown.
George enjoyed fishing, model cars, watching YouTube, riding his scooter, keeping up with Facebook friends, listening to music (mostly The Beatles) and traveling to Florida. Most of all he was a proud Papa, and nothing in the world meant more to him than his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Tara M. Johnson of Watertown, Josh (Taylor Rice) Johnson of Florida; his grandchildren, Legend Johnson of Florida, Kaytlynn Arruda of Watertown, Isaac Griffin of Watertown, Patrick Rice of Florida; and his siblings, Kathy (Stu) Salisbury, Bill (Sue) Johnson, Jill Reed, Chuck Johnson, Betty Tanner, Cheri (Keith) Wright, Jan (Kevin) Patchen. He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
