George E. Malgee, 89, of Midlothian, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Brandermill Woods Health Center. He was born on May 16, 1923 in Williamson, NY and was the only son of the late Elmer J. and Hattie Cook Malgee. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Edith Gleasman Malgee and his sister, Laura M. Dykstra. Mr. Malgee was a member of the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, the American Legion (various posts), and was the longest-tenured member of the Orphix Fraternity of Williamson, New York. Mr. Malgee was a WWII veteran of the US Army, serving as a Sergeant in the 68th Troop Carrier Squadron, 5th Air Force (Army Air Corps) in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He worked for the Garlock Packing Company (Palmyra, NY) for 37-½ years and for Virginia Sealing Products, Inc. (Prince George) for ten years. He founded the latter company with his son, Paul, in May, 1979. George was a devoted husband and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest pride was in his family. He was a true patriot and an avid fan of the New York Yankees for 61 years. He loved the Lord and was for many years a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Williamson, NY. In later life, he transferred his membership to Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church where he served the Lord until his death. Mr. Malgee is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul F. and Patricia L. Malgee of Prince George and David G. and Sherri M. Malgee of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Stacy L. Weissner (Will) of Suffolk, Christopher D. Malgee of Lynchburg, Bethany "Shelly" Malgee of Gettysburg, PA, and Geoffrey D. Malgee of Chester; great-grandchildren, William and Anna Weissner of Suffolk. A funeral service will be held at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 211 Lynchburg Ave., Colonial Heights on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Glenda Hollingshead officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and/or to First Presbyterian, P.O. Box 188, Williamson, NY 14589. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
