Not sure what to say?

George was a wonderful good friend of mine and my family. I loved going on field trips with him and his wife Peggy My other dear friend. We had lots of fun taking pictures and talking about art, photography, painting, etc. He was a well-loved friend and will be missed.

We have been fortunate to have had George and Peggy as our friends since their time in the N. Georgia Mountains. We will miss the great company and conversations with George about everything from politics, cars, motorcycles and life, to birds and cats. Peace be with you our dear friend, you became family.
Love you, Eric "Big Guy" & Ilse

We will miss George. He (and Peggy) have been such good and kind neighbors to us since we moved to Blairsville. We have enjoyed getting to know him over these past 5 years. He always had a wealth of knowledge to share on many subjects when we chatted and we will miss those visits with him. Our prayers are with you Peggy, and the rest of the family as well.

I had the privilege of knowing George as a friend and as a co-worker at DNR. He accepted all activities as a challenge whether it be running boats, shucking oysters, pulling sturgeon nets, handling statistics, etc. No job too big or too small. On the personal side he usually brought levity and a smile to most situations. Indeed, rain, sleet, or snow did not slow this man when he was going to bike to work or play. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.

My condolences to Peggy and family. I had the privilege of sharing an office with George at the DNR, and in that period, I came to truly appreciate his kindness and sense of humor. He made long days feel a little lighter and always took the time to lend a hand or a listening ear. Those memories will stay with me, and I am grateful to have known him.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

George was truly a remarkable person. I remember watching him fly fish just outside the office window—it’s a memory that always brings a smile. I hope you find comfort in your memories of him and in knowing that many others are feeling his loss as well.

George's spirit and deportment were a touchstone for me during our shared tenure at the SC Department of Natural Resources. George was as industrious as he was insightful, and our extended SCDNR family is a little less colorful and reflective with his departure. To Peggy and his family: thank you for "giving us" George for the many years of his faithful service to the citizens and resources of South Carolina. We were blessed to have him working so diligently on behalf of our marine...

Betty and family We are so sorry to hear this news. Our deepest condolences. May George rest in peace and his memory be for a blessing

Dear Peggy,
We are so sorry for your loss, and very sad to hear about George’s passing. He was a good friend and neighbor, and we will miss all the special times we had together.
Our condolences to you and your family.
With love and remembrance, George and Trish Padoll
