WEST, Mr. George III-age 56, of Flint, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 12, 2018 with a 10:30 am family hour at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. Apostle Ruby Johnson officiating. The final resting place for Mr. West will be River Rest Cemetery, Flint, MI. Calling hours are 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel.Mr. George West III was born September 19, 1960 in Vicksburg, MS to the Late George West Jr. and Inez McCrone West. He went to school and graduated from Block High School in Jonesville, LA. George worked at Ford Food Center and Louisiana Delta for several years. He later moved to Flint, MI and was employed by General Motors. George was a people person and he loved cooking and feeding people. George was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Cummings and to this union two children were born Yolanda Cummings and George West IV. Mr. George West III leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Barbara West; daughter, Yolanda Cummings; son, George (Janeil) West IV all of Flint; stepson, Robert White; grandchildren, Marqwevell Cummings, Marquall Deloach, Macarius King and Ty'Aries West; mother, Inez West of Jonesville, LA; brothers, Curtis West of Flint, Robert (Linda) West and Eddie (Patricia) West both of Jonesville, LA; sisters, Evalene Horace of Flint, Willie Mae (Urlease) Walker, Alma (Keith) Davis, Gladys West all of Jonesville, LA and Betty (Eric) Price of Sicily Island, LA; great aunt, Phala Nuckalls of Kankakee, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Jeanette White, Jammia Collier, Roger Moore and Chester Burnett.The family of George West III would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere appreciation to each and everyone for their acts of kindness during the death of our loved one.
