Not sure what to say?

Jerry, I am so sorry I am unable to say Good-bye in person. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with your loving family. I wish I could be there to comfort my sweet cousin., Jenny, for I know how much she loves you. Rest in the peace of our Lord. Florence

Lt. Gerald Burns became my lieutenant when I transferred to the 24th district in 2003. I transferred to the 24th three weeks after I got married, but my name tag still read Welch. Now fast forward 6 months. Lt. Burns was doing the DAR‘s and noticed that there was now an officer Maureen Burns, on his DAR’s. So at the end of my tour Lt. Jerry was my first Lt. I got on in 96, went to 24th district, 3sqd. He was a good Lt to his sqd, old school. Every now /then I would see him after his retirement, he’d talk my ear off. Sad to see his passing. My sympathies to his family.
