Not sure what to say?

Our deepest sympathy to Joann and family. Words cannot convey how we feel at this time of great sorrow. He will be missed very much.

Lars and family, our most deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss. We wish we could be there for and with you. Just know we are here for you.
Jerry was always very good to Joe and will be missed.
Love you
Joe and Kim Cicalo

Grandpa, thank you for always giving me an example to live by. Whenever I am in doubt I will always ask W.W.J.D. (What would Jerry do) love always,
Erik

I am so saddened by this news. I have nothing but fond memories of him. He was my parents best friend and now he is celebrating life with them! I will always remember that contagious smile he would always have. Full of so much love for everyone. I remember going camping with the whole family and the fun we had. Jerry, you are forever in my heart. Give mom and dad a big hug from me, please. I love you and may you "rest in peace". He always called me "Tish"

My thoughts and prayers...

Gerald "Jerry"'s Obituary

Gerald Paul Furlette, ‘Jerry’ passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021 after a very brief illness.

Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on March 26, 1937 to Vernon and Stella Furlette, where he grew up with his siblings Janet, Genevieve, and James. Jerry graduated from St. Michaels in 1955 and started his career at AC Spark Plug at the age of 19. Jerry fondly remembered his 32 years working at AC and this year, he reached one of his long-term life goals: to be retired for longer than he worked. .

Jerry shared 65 wonderful years of love with his best friend and wife, Joann and they raised Deb, Lori, Jan, Larry, and Paula in a house brimming with joy and laughter. Jerry was rarely idle and his restless energy to learn, create, fix, tinker, and be physically active never waned. He was passionate about woodworking and took joy in helping others with his adept skills and talent to fix nearly anything.  He was a lifelong Catholic and his faith was a cornerstone of his life and brought great comfort and joy.  Other favorite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, rooting for the Wolverines, puzzles, keeping up with current technologies, and playing horseshoes, golf, and tennis.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Joann (Slosser) Furlette and was the loving father to Debra (Jack), Applin, Lori Hill, Janet Farmer, Lawrence Furlette, and Paula Furlette. Jerry is survived by his brother, James Furlette; his grandchildren Janelle Fosler, Erik (Leigh) Hill, Samantha Farmer, and William Farmer; his great grandchildren Izzy and Ari Fosler and Barrett Hill; and many other cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and inlaws. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Stella (Lawrence) Furlette, and his sisters Janet (John) O’Brien and Genevieve (Jack) Carr.

A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, June 18 2022 in Luther (more details to come). In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Luther Lions Club (1003 N. Old State Rd, Luther, MI 49656), and St. Ignatius Catholic Church (701 State St, Luther, MI 49656).
