I planted the tree that they offered as an option to have a live memory, I wish I knew where it was planted to make sure it survives, Jerry will always be in my heart as he will be in many others, he was one of a kind, a beautiful soul

Single Tree

Jerry and I met when he and his family moved in just down the road from us on Bryan Station rd in bourbon county,we became immediate friends and classmates in school,we used to ride bikes and ponies growing up,trading and racing model cars,playing football,basketball,baseball,and camping out.We use to pal around all the time,and he along with other young guys of our country neighbors,worked together in the hayfields,tobacco fields,working cattle,sheep on our farms as well as others.Jerry...

Obituary

Gerald's Obituary

Gerald Wayne Junkin, 64, husband of Judy Wooldridge, passed away August 24, 2022 at his home.  Born in Verdun, France on September 29, 1957, he was the son of the late Gerald Fowler Junkin and Barbara Ann Broughton Junkin. 

Gerald was a certified electrician and known as a Jack of all Trades.  He formerly worked for Wilkins Electric in Frankfort and at Quad Graphics in Versailles.   A member of the Mercer County Fish & Game Club, his hobbies included fishing, leather crafting, model cars, and working on his trucks. 

Along with his wife Judy, he is survived by his children, Heather Junkin (husband Josh) Moore of Lawrenceburg and Tyler Junkin (Madison Hicks) of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, Genia, Willow, Kaylee, Finley, and Jade; and a sister, Danita Wilson of Michigan.  Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Junkin. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 from 11 – 12 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12:15 PM at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion.  Will Cooper and Blaine Price will be sharing at the service.
