I just saw this and was very saddened. Gerry was a great man who served his country and worked hard to make the world around him a better place!

Gerry was such a loving Father, and Grandfather. He poured his heart into the meals he made and prepared for the people he loved, always offering it to guests wanting to make sure you never left hungry and felt comfortable. His humor was always entertaining, and if you took the time to listen he was highly intelligent but never arrogant. Whatever Gerry showed interested in he knew everything about it. Hard working, and very kind..and sensitive though he didn't show that side to everyone. I...

Gerald Kohnke, age 76, at rest March 11, 2025. Vietnam War USMC Veteran. Beloved and cherished father of Amy Culligan; Loving grandfather of Robin Comber, Julian Culligan, and Brody Culligan; Beloved son of the late Walter and Mary Kohnke; Dear brother of the late George Kohnke. Gerald was a dedicated Salesman at the Great Escape for 40 years and former owner of Enzo’s Pizzeria in Oak Lawn. Gerald served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. “May His Memory Be Eternal”
