Geraldine's Obituary

Geraldine M. “Gerry” Nestor passed away peacefully at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford on August 24, 2025, she was 83. Born and raised in Medford, Gerry was the cherished daughter of the late Doris M. (Jacobs) and Jerome B. Nestor. A graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1960 she went on to begin her career with First National Stores as an administrative assistant. Gerri loved animals, especially dogs and birds. She had several parrots over the years and loved her dog Louie. She also had a great love for the piano. In retirement, she was an active resident of the Faulkner Towers in Somerville where she had many dear friends, Ruth and Debbie among them. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at American Legion Post 19. Gerry will be remembered for her gentle and kind manner. She was the dear sister of Peter Nestor of Reading and his partner Anne of Woburn, the late Kenneth J. Nestor and his wife Carolyn and the late Joanne Nestor. Sister-in-law of the late Frances Nestor.  She was the cherished “Auntie Gerry” to many loved nieces and nephews and is survived by many loving cousins and her great friends from elementary school, twin sisters, Alice & Ann. Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Thursday, September 4th from 4:00PM ~ 7:00PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A private burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry’s memory can be made to the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org
