WOLCOTT Gerard Sirois Sr. "Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather" Mr. Gerard Sirois Sr., 89 of Wolcott, passed away Monday, June 09, 2014 at the Village of East Farms with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Stella ( Butch ) Sirois. Gerard was born in Auburn, Maine on September 11, 1924, son of the late Joseph and Alida (Neadeau) Sirois. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he was a gunnery petty officer Second Class. He served in the European, Asiatic, and Pacific Theaters. He was a Field Supervisor for CL&P for 38 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a lifetime member of the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department Co. # 3 since 1952 and he served as Deputy Chief for seven years. He was a past charter member and Third Degree of the Wolcott Knights of Columbus Council # 3961. He belonged to the Cha-Rum-Ba Dance Club and a past member and treasurer of the Wolcott Arts Association. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He was an avid UCONN basketball fan and enjoyed a good cigar. He cherished spending quality time with his family. He leaves three sons, Gerard Sirois Jr. and his wife Sandy, Thomas Sirois and his wife Kathy and Kenneth Sirois and his wife Maryann, one brother, Robert Sirois and his wife Mary all of Wolcott, a sister-in-law, Mary Budzinowski of New Hampshire, seven grandchildren, Dayna Paternostro and her fiancé Marc Santopietro of Wolcott, Jason Sirois and his wife Michelle of Ft. Pierce, FL, Kristen Bessette and her husband Ryan of Wolcott, Andrew Sirois and his wife Lauren of Bristol, Stephanie Sirois, Janine Sirois and Amanda Sirois all of Wolcott, four great-grandchildren, Bryanna & Michael Paternostro, Ryan Thomas Bessette, and Olivia Sirois, one great grandson on the way, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Monique Sirois, four sisters, Julie, Irene, Germaine, and Ceil and two brothers, Adrien, and Roland Sirois. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Village at East Farms and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care for the exceptional care given to Jerry during his illness. Arrangements: Funeral will be held Thursday, 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment, with full Military Honors will follow at Calvary Garden Mausoleum, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
