I always admired his contributions to the preservation of audiovisual collections -- I am a former colleague at the Library of Congress.

Gerry and I were colleagues during the first few years of ARSC. After the first 5 years, I left ARSC to take care of my two very young children (an 18 month old son and a newborn daughter) after my wife died at 33. Gerry did indeed, help a great deal with our publications as well as other association business as a board member. Several times, I've tried to reconnect with him since rejoining ARSC in later years.
