Not sure what to say?

Ginny was one of the warmest and kindest souls God ever placed among us. She had a way of brightening every room and making each person feel seen, loved, and valued. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort knowing she is now in the presence of our Lord. Heaven has gained a truly beautiful angel. May her light continue to shine in all of us who were blessed to know her.

So sorry to all the family, Ginny was a kind and loving lady and she raised her children to be the same way. I Love them all.I am glad she is no longer in pain.

GINNY's Obituary

Virginia “Ginny” Sue Thomas, 87, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 12:39 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Ginny was born to Auburn and Mary Bryant on November 11, 1938, in New Harmony, Indiana.  Her family lived in Indiana and Pennsylvania before settling in Henderson, Kentucky, where she met her best friend, Fred Thomas.  They were married on Derby Day 1961 and enjoyed a life of adventure together until Fred’s passing in April 2014.

Anyone who knew Ginny loved her and her vibrant personality.  She was always positive and you never heard her complain (unless it was about slow men on the golf course).  She loved golf and the camaraderie of it.  When not on the course, you could find her hanging with the “Girls” at Rookies or spending time with her family.  She loved her friends and family and those UK Wildcats.

Survivors include four children, Rodney Thomas and his wife, Liz, Mike Thomas and his wife, Lisa, Shelly Jost and her husband, Jeff, and Dana Thomas; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Jost (Nick) Gillham, Chris (Morgan) Thomas, Zachary (Elizabeth) Jost, Quinn (Kacie Peters) Thomas, Drew (Sydney) Jost, Rylee Jost, Skylar (Trevor Goff) Thomas, and Kenzie Thomas; great-grandchildren, Chandler, Truitt, Palmer, Court, Gage, Jude, Brady, Lucy, Willow, and Asher; nieces and nephews; and lifelong sister friend, Suellen Douglas.

            Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held at Rookies on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
