Gino Raymond Rivas was born on June 7, 1979, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno, Nevada. He spent most of his life in Lovelock, Nevada, where he built deep roots within his family and community. Gino passed away peacefully at his mother’s home. Gino was a devoted father whose greatest pride and joy were his sons, Moses Rivas, Chris Morales, and Isaiah Rivas. He also lovingly raised and cared for his nephews—Luis, Ramon, and Steven Sanchez—as his own. His life was centered around family, and his love for his boys was unwavering and unconditional. He is survived by his mother, Tracey Rivas; sisters Alicia, Ericka, Annie, Nina, and Sofia Rivas; brothers Victor and Ralph Rivas Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who loved him dearly. Gino was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Rivas Sr.; his grandparents Tino and Esther Rivas; his maternal grandmother, Bonita Mangus, maternal grandfather Arthur Tygesen; and his beloved baby girl. For much of his life, Gino proudly served as a firefighter with the Sho-Pai Fire Crew, a role that reflected his courage, work ethic, and desire to help others. He also worked in warehouses and railroading, always providing for his family through honest and hard work. Outside of work, Gino had a passion for lowriders and loved drawing, expressing his creativity through art. Gino was known for his big heart and selflessness. He would do anything for his family and close friends and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a stranger. His kindness, strength, and loyalty left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Gino will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on January 18. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his life, share memories, and celebrate the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
