John was a great brother in law ! My husband's middle brother , closest in age to my spouse ! John was human / just as we all are ! But he had a lot of faith ! He loved his Mother deeply as a young man ! He was always ready to help his brother , Onorio ! I know it hit him hard when my husband passed away & his family members . Giovanni “John” Catenacci, 82 years old of Kinde, passed away on November 1, 2022 at McLaren Thumb Regional Hospital in Bad Axe. John was born on September 12, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Onorio and Angeline (Fallone) Catenacci. He married Suzanne Neuenfeldt on June 3, 2006 and they enjoyed 16 years together.
John enjoyed spending time in his garage and had a passion for Lionel Trains. He retired from STT in Harbor Beach. John was a Vietnam Veteran POW, and member of the Bad Axe/ Port Austin VFW Post 116. John loved listening to Elvis and Oldies’ music. Those that loved him knew him as “lips” as he always had insight to share.
John is survived by their children Ann Marie (Jeff) Hudson, Thomas Catenacci, Rebecca (Scott) Mohler, Thomas Neuenfeldt (Angel Fair),Cheryl (Ryan) Warner, Sarah Neuenfeldt, Daniel (Kara) Neuenfeldt; grandchildren Alyssa Catenacci, Desmond and Rueben Mohler, Elizabeth, Henry and Abigail Warner, Nevaeha, Aria and August Neuenfeldt, and Penelope Neuenfeldt and his brother Thomas Catenacci, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his siblings Onorio Catenacci, MaryAnn Sardy, and Jeanette Catenacci.
Funeral service for Giovanni “John” will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the MacAlpine Funeral Home Gage Chapel in Kinde with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating, with visitation on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde from 2:00-8:00 PM, and also from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in Colfax Township cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to the family discretionary fund in care of Suzanne Catenacci.
