Giuseppe's Obituary

Joseph Riso, a wonderful, beloved and cherished man, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, adoring grandfather, treasured great-grandfather and cherished friend. He joins his late wife, Frances Riso in heaven.Joseph was born in Isola delle Femmine, Sicily and began his career as a barber there. After serving in the Italian Navy during World War II, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Pittsburg, marrying Frances Belleci, his loving and committed wife of over 60 years. He spent most of his career at The Clip Joynte in Walnut Creek and was adored by customers for his welcoming smile, easy laugh and good jokes. Joseph loved caring for his garden, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his children and many grandchildren. He was a die-hard SF Giants and 49ers fan and loved spending time in Bodega Bay.Joseph is survived by his devoted children; Francine Wilson of Pittsburg, Vincent Riso of Oregon, Jennice Weger of Twain Harte and Anthony Riso of Antioch. Joseph was blessed with and leaves behind fifteen beloved grandchildren and seventeen cherished great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.Friends and Family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 5:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at Church of the Good Shepherd. Funeral liturgy Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
