My heart is broken for you all. I didn’t realize you met each other at Tiffany’s Cafe. I went there several times. I love that you named Tiffany after that fateful meeting. Hugs to you Donna, Tiffany and Emma from your loving Aunt Sherri. ❤

My deepest condolences to the family- especially to Donna, Tiffany, and Emma. You were his world which everyone knew if they were in the same room. It was always great and welcoming to see Joey's big smile, which he had on every time I saw him. Prayers and thoughts are with you. Love, Kim

I’m so so sorry for your loss. Giuseppe was such a nice man. I remember when I first met Giuseppe about 14-17 years ago. It was at a family party and it was the first time I was meeting everyone in Darla’s family. I sat next to Giuseppe and he told me he worked for hbo and I asked him so many questions about his job. He helped me fit in and he made me feel so welcome. He made me laugh all night long, he was so funny and was such a nice man. I’m so sorry for the girls and everyone else...

Rest in peace Giuseppe may God bless you on your journey my deepest condolence to the family we are so sorry for your lost ❤

Obituary

Giuseppe's Obituary

Giuseppe Salvatore Vaglica was born in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York on August 18, 1958 to Pietra and Dominico Vaglica. Giuseppe had three brothers Giovanni, Vincenzo and Mario.

On March 24, 1984, Giuseppe met Donna Lee on a blind date at Tiffany’s (Wine and Cheese Cafe). A blind date set up by their mutual friends who thought they were “perfect for one another”. The rest is their story... 41 years together.

Giuseppe and Donna Lee made a beautiful life together living in their homes in Bay Shore and Commack, Long Island where they raised their daughter Tiffany Joy who they welcomed in 1986.

In 2017, they were doubly blessed with a granddaughter, Emma Charlotte, who they also helped to raise, having moved to Philadelphia/Main Line in 2019.

The joy and reason in Giuseppe’s life were his three girls, Donna Lee, Tiffany Joy, and Emma Charlotte. For him they were his everything. The love that is shared between the four of them is beyond all measure of time and distance and is eternal. He was also Papa to Gatsby, his feline “fur-son”.

In 1984, Giuseppe was blessed with a family by love. Mom and Dad Sandra and Alan, sisters Darla Joy and Lee, brothers Alan, Glen and Filippo, as well as nieces and nephews and extended families. He also had a son and daughters by love: Peter, Rachel, and Catherine.

Giuseppe was a Computer Systems Network Engineer by profession. He held many positions throughout his career which began in 1981, when he graduated from NYIT College. The highlight for him, however, was working in broadcasting/communications at HBO. He absolutely loved every moment of those years in the tv/movie industry shared with his HBO family.

For the past three years, Giuseppe worked at the Department of the Treasury in Philadelphia. He was very proud of his sworn oath taken to serve the American people.

While his passing is completely unexpected, God had other plans for him. He is now reunited in Heaven’s perfect peace, with Jesus Christ and all those who have gone on before him.

Giuseppe “Joey” was a beautiful light while on this earth, with a smile which radiated his heart of gold and his love for others. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him deeply.

In lieu of flowers, a donation made to a charity of your choice “In loving memory of Giuseppe S. Vaglica” would be a beautiful gesture of love.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Monday August 18,  from 6 to 8 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore PA 19003.  Interment will be private at a later date.
