Gladys D. Nour

Gladys D. Nour, 77, of Groton, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at L M Hospital in New London.She was born on March 8, 1939, in Montgomery, AL, the daughter of Larry and Lydia (Richardson) Raper.Gladys was married to her beloved husband Charles Nour. He passed away in 1981.She was a dedicated hairdresser for over 30 years and when she wasn't working she was always putting her creative talents to use from cake decorating, to designing t-shirts and sweatshirts, or making beautiful quilts.Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Jack, and her husband David, and Sandra Reynolds both of Ledyard; four grandchildren, Christopher and Benjamin Jack, and Brittany Casey, and her husband Allen, and Michelle Reynolds. She was predeceased by her sister Johnnie Walsh.She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at New Life Christian Church, 1729 Center Groton Road, Ledyard. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park in Norfolk, VA. In lieu of flowers donations in Gladys' memory may be made to American Heart Association, P O Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
