Glenda's Obituary

Glenda Joy (Albert) Covington, 85, of Texarkana, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Hospice of Texarkana. Glenda was born to Ray and Frankie Albert on July 31, 1940, in the little town of DeKalb, Texas. What can we say but to have known Glenda, or “Mrs. Tim” as she was affectionately called, was to love her.  She was a proud homemaker and loved her family and community.  It was a joy and delight for her to be called “Mrs. Tim.” Glenda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisville and served as a teacher and a VBS worker. She was on numerous committees, along with being a member of Tri C’s and Lions Club.

Preceding Ms. Covington in death are her parents, Ray and Frankie Albert and her husband, Obie Marcus “Tim” Covington. She is survived by her son, Ernest Ray Covington (Marjorie) of Benton, LA; her daughters, Rita Gay Young (Robert) of Springhill, LA and Theresa Powell (Ray) of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, Alicia (Joel) Williams, James (Courtney) Covington, Kaitlyn Powell and Abby Powell; great grandchildren, Tyson and Charlotte Mae; and her cousins that was like sisters to her, Virginia, Sandra and Linda Jo.
