Glenn Walter Swanson, Jr.

Mr. Glenn Walter Swanson, Jr. age 87 of Huntsville passed away Sunday February 7, 2016 in Huntsville. Graveside service for Mr. Swanson was held Thursday at 2:00 at the Berry City Cemetery in Berry, Al. with Rev. Kenneth Bozeman officiating. Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette, Al.,directed.Mr. Swanson was born November 4, 1928 in Northport, Al., the son of the late Glenn Walter Swanson, Sr. and Zelma Anderson Swanson. He was a 1952 graduate of the University of Alabama and entered the Army serving in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954 with the Army Engineering Co. He had been a resident of Huntsville since 1960.Mr. Swanson was an engineer who retired from the U.S. Government.He is survived by one son, Glenn Walter Swanson III. of Huntsville, two daughters, Cynthia Hofmann of Huntsville and Cheryl Barnacle of Mobile; several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Walton Swanson ; two sisters, Lola Harkness and Carolyn Swanson; two brothers, Orman Swanson and Norman Swanson.
