Glenn's Obituary

Glenn Webber, a resident of Florala, Alabama, was born on February 1, 1956, and passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026.

Glenn spent his working life as a truck driver in the transportation industry, a career that suited his steady nature, strong work ethic, and love for the open road. He took pride in honest work and provided faithfully for his family through years of dedication and perseverance.

Outside of work, Glenn had a deep appreciation for history and heritage. He was especially fascinated by the Civil War and devoted countless hours to studying it. One of his greatest passions was genealogy. With patience and determination, he traced his family’s lineage all the way back to the 1500s, preserving stories and connections that meant a great deal to him and his loved ones. He also enjoyed fishing and found quiet joy in assembling detailed battleship models, carefully bringing each piece together with precision and pride.

Glenn was known by all who knew him as a man of genuine kindness and generosity. As the old-timers would say, he would “give the shirt off his back.” He truly lived by the principle of loving his neighbor as himself, always placing the needs of others ahead of his own and caring deeply for those around him.

A devoted member of Lockhart Baptist Church, Glenn dearly loved his church family and found strength, fellowship, and purpose in his faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Webber.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Webber; his mother, Frances Miller; his son, Kevin Webber and wife Britt; his daughters, Glynda Webber and Stephanie Haynie and husband Jason; his grandchildren, Troy Watson and Jackson Webber; and his great-grandson, Easton Watson. He was affectionately known as “Granddad,” a title he cherished and wore with pride.

A Celebration of Life service for Glenn Webber will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on January 31, 2026, at Lockhart Baptist Church, with Austin McNeil officiating.

Glenn Webber will be remembered for his kindness, humility, faith, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set.
