She went on to spend 45 years in Operating Room nursing at both Sacred Heart and Baptist Hospitals where she retired as an OR Supervisor. Even after retirement she continued her love of nursing in Juneau, Alaska, in Bartlett Regional Hospital’s OR.
Gloria is survived by her children, Paula Cary Ponto (Mike), Allison Cary Hannah (Rob) and Scott Collins (Katy); Grandchildren, Blaine and Jake Ponto, Turner and Wiley Collins.
Our sincere thanks to everyone at Wesley Haven Villa who made Gloria's time there not only "home" but became extended family members to her and us as well. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Myesha and Josh with Gentiva Hospice for the support, assistance and loving care they gave Gloria and our family.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to Wesley Haven Villa, 111 E. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501.

Our family was so saddened to hear of Gloria's recent passing and will miss her dearly. She was so full of
life and confidently accepted challenges. She had a wonderful reputation in the nursing profession and took excellent care of my future mother in law during an emergency illness.
We will miss her always and are sure she and our mother, Connie Marie (Cash) Carroll) are smiling together.
