Gloria Mae Halseth

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Gloria Mae Halseth, passed away peacefully at home January 9, 2026 at the age of 97. Gloria was born August 9, 1928 to Ruth (Dahlgren) and Robert Swanson in Turlock, California. Her family moved to the westside in 1941 and she graduated from Patterson high school in 1946, then attended MJC. Gloria married Leo Halseth, September 4, 1948 and were soon the parents of four children. Gloria was a lifelong member of the Covenant Church, serving at times as secretary, treasurer, board member and Sunday school teacher. She and her husband Leo loved to travel, host family and friends at countless gatherings and celebrations and, as she told a caregiver on one of her last days “we liked to dance”. Gloria was the heart of her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by them. She will be dearly missed, but remembered always. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Swanson; husband, Leo Halseth; son, Ken Halseth and grandson, Steven Halseth. She is survived by her children, Christy Halseth, Kathy (Ken) Ross and Michael (Maryann) Halseth; her grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Halseth, Tyson Halseth, Robert Ross, Rebecca (Jack) Thon, David (Madelyn) Ross, Cole (Erin) Halseth, and John (Jamie) Halseth and 16 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s memory to a charity of your choice. 

A Graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Patterson District Cemetery
