I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am to hear this. The time that I was around him no words can explain what a wonderful person he was. He had a heart that was made of gold and would do anything to help anyone. Our community is going to miss him extremely along with his family and friends. May all the wonderful memories help you through this difficult time. God bless all of you

Gordon Lyle “Flash” Eaton, Sr., 59, Willow River, died peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024 at his home while being surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 31, 1964 in Moose Lake to Henry and Lena Eaton. He attended Willow River High School. Gordy worked in the logging industry until 1988 when he began working for Mlaskoch Utility Construction. In the early 90’s, Gordy bought into Mlaskoch Utility Construction and owned the company with Ray Mlaskoch, Ron Mlaskoch, and Duane Berg. In 2003, Gordy bought out Ray Mlaskoch. In 2016, after Ron retired, Gordy owned and operated the business with Dusty Mlaskoch and they changed the name of the company to Cornerstone Utility Construction. In 2019, Gordy bought out Dusty and owned and operated the company himself. He was always one step ahead of anything that might come up. He had his bases covered right up to the end and made sure his family and employees were taken care of and everything was in order. He had a strong work ethic and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. Through the years, Gordy loved to socialize with his friends and always had an amazing sense of humor and a laugh that no one would forget. It was a yearly tradition to gather his family and friends for his annual party. He also took up the hobby of playing bass guitar and played in the bands: Lost & Found, Backwoods, and Kokomo. He loved deer hunting, turkey hunting, ocean fishing, tackling a large project, or helping a friend. The most important thing to Gordy was his wife, kids, grandchildren, and friends. He worked hard and appreciated that family time to complete his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Lena Eaton.
Gordy is survived by his wife, Tonya; three children: Bobbi Delaine Eaton, Daniel Eaton, and Gordy Eaton, Jr.; stepdaughter: Natasha Perez; three grandchildren: Jasper, Ryker, and Daxton; several siblings; many friends and especially three friends that were like brothers: John “Bags” Sack, John “Bell” Tourville, and Tom “Moose” Shelton.
A Celebration of Gordy’s Life will be held at his residence on Saturday, July 27, 2024 beginning at 4 pm. There will be a time of sharing at 5 pm. Gordy wanted the gathering to be a time of happiness!
