Grant's Obituary

Grant Glover Jr., 65, was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on June 27, 1954 to the late Julia Bates- Glover and Grant Glover Sr. He completed his journey on August 16, 2019.

Grant was known for being a very punctual and dependable person, which carried over into his work life. He firmly believed in completing any task at hand with perfection and efficiency. Grant felt that serving and protecting was not just a job, but a responsibility he brought upon himself that he enjoyed doing. He bravely served his country in two different branches of military. He first served in the United States Airforce as a Security Police Officer from 1972- 1980 and from 1981-1990 he served in the United States Army as a Chemical Operations Specialist. All during his career, he earned numerous medals and awards, such as Defense Service medal, AFGC medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, just to name a few. After military life, Grant eventually returned home to begin his civilian life as career law enforcement, in the city of Hot Springs. He was dedicated to the job. He had acquired certification in different areas to enhance his skills in law enforcement. During his time on the force, he trained several officers, some of whom are still patrolling the streets, today. Although a very serious law enforcement officer, he always showed his soft side, when it came to family. He loved them dearly.

Grant was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents and one brother, Charles Glover.Grant will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Candace Synaria Glover of Austell, GA.; son, Eugene Aireese Glover of Chattanooga, TN; two step-daughters: Yolanda Blevins and Latoya Alexander of Hot Springs, AR.; step-son, Carlos McDaniel (Lindsey) of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Keven Glover of Mayberry, Georgia and Carl Glover of Hot Springs, AR; one sister, Hilda Buckley (Earl) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; grandchildren: Nastacia Nikole King and Izayah Trayvon King of Austell, GA., D’chayla Mechelle Glover of Chattanooga, TN and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Kindred Hospice and North Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and staff of Hot Springs.
