Not sure what to say?

Greg and I had wonderful times together at Goodrich school. The first time I experienced "The Wizzard of Oz" on TV was at Greg's house along with Dan Owens. We were 7 years old. Hope he is riding his trains in Heaven now! Goodbye old friend

There was something about you, Greg. It´s clear that you were a free spirit who moved as the spirit moved you. I´m in Portland Oregon now, taking in the reality of your passing. The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful place, and I will think about you enjoying the people and the beauty of this place whenever I visit. Godspeed, dear Greg.

Group of 10 Trees

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Gregory has run his last course here
Adventure ever calling with nary a fear
A free spirit in life, freest in death he shall be
To explore his next course through eternity

I'll always remember Hoffman's Playland, the magic tricks, and the trains filling the basement in Latham. All my prayers.

Cluster of 50 Trees

God bless and keep you Gregory! You had quite an adventurous life! I am in Ithaca college fraternity brother of Bill. Sending love of this difficult time to all the family!

Gregory's Obituaries

Olympia, WA - Gregory Michael Nestuk, 65, of Olympia, Washington, formerly of Newtonville, NY passed away July 5, 2022. Greg was a graduate of Shaker High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and was a building inspector for Thurston County, Washington.

Having an adventurous spirit, he left his childhood home with nothing but his old pickup, and a mattress in the back, and headed west, destination unknown. Falling in love with Olympia, he spent the rest of his life there.

Greg spent his free time exploring the Pacific Northwest, and Canada, alone, and with his brother Bill and sister-in-law Linda. He was also an electric train collector, accumulating a collection that would fill a museum.

Greg was fiercely independent, a diamond in the rough; loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother Bill and sister-in-law Linda; niece and Goddaughter Gina; nephew Bill; and 4 grand nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend Tammy Trager, who held his hand when he passed; her husband Dwight; his good friend and neighbor for 27 years Don Johnson; his childhood friend Bill Vandercar; and friend Dr. Patrick O’Connor, who helped him through many health issues.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 10AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY followed by interment next to his mom and dad, at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville, NY.  A calling hour will be held before the service, at the church.
