Gretta Assaly

Sincere condolences to Gretta’s family and friends from the members and staff of the University Women’s Club of Winnipeg.
Gretta’s grandfather Charles Gordon built Ralph Connor House, which tody is a designated heritage site and home to our club. We remember and appreciate the Gordon family and their descendants.

The times I spent with Gretta in Eagle County, Colorado, are some of the most treasured in my life. Gretta was a great friend and mentor, and for that I am so grateful. Memories of the theater projects and countless"giggles" we shared over the years will never be forgotten.

Gretta, I loved every moment of knowing you! You were a true original and an inspiration.

Gretta cast me as Fagin in a community-wide production of Oliver! in the early/mid nineties. It turned out to be one of the best experiences I have had in a long life of performing. She was wise and calm and funny, and under her direction I blossomed, if I am saying so myself. I'll never forget when she shared with me her favorite moment in the show, after it opened. And that moment was my favorite as well.

Gretta inspired musical theater here in the Eagle Valley and her contribution will forever be remembered.

I loved working with my dear friend Gretta over the years as a pianist for her in her many shows and also dancing for her in operas and other productions.
She will always be a wonderful friend and very, very special memory! She’s one of a kind. I will miss her tremendously!❤
