Gustof “Gus” Stricker

Saginaw, MI

Passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center; age 93 years. Gus was born on August 27, 1932 in Saginaw, MI to the late Gustav and Agnes Stricker. He was married to Marilynn Williams in May of 1978, in Bay City, Michigan; she survives him. Gus honorably served in the US Navy from 1951-1955, he was stationed in Chicago and Anacostia. He started his career working for Swansons as a driver then in 1959 he started his banking career at Frankenmuth Bank and Trust, Reese, MI. Gus continued his education at Madison School of Banking and finished with a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan. He continued his distinguished banking career through mergers and acquisitions retiring as President of First America Bank of Lapeer. Gus was well known through out many counties, he knew every businessman and farmer in several surrounding counties. Upon retirement Marilynn and Gus moved to Bradenton Florida and traveled extensively, until coming back to Saginaw. Gus enjoyed many Canadian fishing trips and cherished being around his family.

Surviving besides his wife Marilynn are four sons Rock (Julia) Denham, Greg Stricker (Deborah), Scott Stricker, Kevin Stricker; grandchildren Jason (Angie Dabrowski) Denham, Rock (Jackie Feinauer) Denham II, Brianne Denham, Michael (Nicole) Stricker, Jacob (Brittany) Stricker, Jeff (Kelli) Stricker), Ann Stricker, Kevin Stricker Jr., Kenneth Stricker, Brenna (Dustin) Bannister, Drake (Sara) Gillien; twelve great grandchildren Jacob, McKaila, McKensie, Madalyn, Samantha, Abigail, Jaxson, Estelle, Emilee, Braxton, Brenston, and Benjamin; brothers and sister Barry, Karen, Ronnie, Randy, and many nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, Gus was preceded in death by brothers Don and Tom, and stepdaughter JoEllen Gillien.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and Optimal Hospice for their wonderful care of Gus. 

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Burial in Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Gus’ family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association or the I support the 1% Veteran Food Pantry.
