Guy's Obituary

EVANS MILLS, NY – Guy Kenneth Carlisle, 55, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1-3 pm at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow. A celebration-of-life gathering will then take place at the Evans Mills Fire Hall.

Born September 26, 1970, in Watertown, Guy was the son of Rodney Kenneth and Marion Jane (Burns) Carlisle. He was a 1989 graduate of Thousand Islands High School.

A hardworking and passionate man, Guy spent much of his life in the restaurant industry. Over the years, he proudly owned and operated several local establishments, including Pizza Express in Brownville during the late 1990s, Rhonda’s Place in Evans Mills from 2010 to 2013, and Cozy Kitchen in Felts Mills from 2017 to 2019. He also worked with several other restaurants, most recently with Papa Tino’s.

On April 29, 2000, Guy married Rhonda Cateon. Rhonda lovingly cared for Guy during his illness, providing unwavering support and compassion.

Guy is survived by his father, Rodney Carlisle of Watertown; stepchildren, Justin (Mary) Bartholomew of Potsdam and Michael Bartholomew of Evans Mills; three grandchildren, Taylor (Ryan) Snyder of Potsdam, and Aidan and Jaylah Bartholomew of Indiana; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Guy was predeceased by his mother, Marion Jane Carlisle.

Guy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to his stepson, Michael for his continuous care, allowing Guy to be home and comfortable in his final months.

Guy will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, his love of racing, and his deep admiration for music. His love for music began with his uncle, Richard Carlisle. He and Richard played together in the Northern Express Band. Guy also loved Elvis Presley—a love that led him all the way to Graceland. Guy was a member of the Evans Mills United Methodist Church, where he played bass guitar in the band. Above all, Guy cherished time spent with family and friends.
