Julie, Stefan & Family-our deepest, deepest sympathies. There are no words that we can utter to help you remove the numbness of losing Harry. He was truly a great Man. Kind, strong, devoted. He always had a smile and was intentional in our interactions.. May Harry rest in eternal peace in the kingdom of heaven. God bless you all.

Harry was a truly remarkable man. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him and spend time in his company. He had a brilliant mind and will be greatly missed.

Harry, a fine gentleman; a kind man; an intelligent man. Someone I am happy to have spent time working with and getting to know. May he rest in peace.

Harry's Obituary

Harry Benedikt of Rutherford, NJ passed away on February 23, 2026, at age 69. He was born in New York (Harlem), NY to Werner & Lydia (Balitch) Benedikt.

Harry was a master craftsman and a devoted business owner.  He approached everyday with relentless commitment and an extraordinary work ethic.  Long hours and difficult challenges never deterred him – they fueled him.

He had a brilliant mind in engineering and machining skills to accomplish what the customer needed.  Customers sought after him to do work outside the norm.  He had produced many a masterpiece of work for his customers.

His machine shop and his work were a reflection of who he was; disciplined, exacting and built on pride in honest, old-school hard work.

Despite being engrossed in his professional life, he was also a devoted, dotting husband to Julie Song-Benedikt, a loving father to Stefan, and a genuine friend.  He loved superhero movies, Captain America being his favorite, among other Avenger Superheroes.  He travelled world-wide with Julie and Stefan, to Asia - Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia the Americas and much of Europe.

Harry is survived by wife & son Julie & Stefan, father Werner, brother & wife Peter & Georgie Benedikt, international in-laws Janette & Lou Panaccio, Justin & Annie Song, Jaudzar & Ellah Song, Lee Chin & Sidney Pui, Jennie Song-Benedikt, Lee Giok Song and Jin Kwang & Stephanie Song.  

Nieces and nephews – Allen & Christy Benedikt, Allyson Benedikt, Sean Benedikt, Kerry Benedikt, Erik & Shannon Benedikt, Anton Benedikt, Andrea & Jeff Vlahovich and children, Alexander & Rigi Panaccio and children, Tiffany Song, Joshua Song, Lilli & Amin, Jyhan & Syria Song, Jabrul & Jia Song, Sheryl Pui and Jonathan Pui.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lydia and brother Karl.

 Family will receive friends on Friday, 02/27/26, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Ave, Rutherford, NJ 07070.   Prayer session begins at 6:30pm to 7:00pm.
