Harry L. Fureigh of Prescott, age 78, died Wednesday September 11, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday September 17, 2024 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiaiting: with Military Honors to follow. Family will receive visitors from 2-6 pm Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Harry’s memory to the Veterans Organization of your choice.
Harry was born in Flint Michigan on April 17, 1946 the son of Hassel and Juanita (Satterwhite) Fureigh and has resided in the Prescott area since 1977. He was joined in marriage to Cynthia “Cindy” Walker on November 7, 1975. Answering the call of his country Harry proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 370, DAV Post 122, and a life member of the VFW. Harry was a loving family man; he enjoyed mowing and maintaining his lawn, and could be found legally picketing for causes that he believed in. He loved animals and especially his cat companion Blackie. Harry had been employed by General Motors Truck & Bus Division until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife Cindy, children: Dawn (Dan) Kniffen, Tracy Ann Noonan, and Harry Lee (Molly) Fureigh. He also leaves his seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his stepmother Bonnie Fureigh and half brother Craig (Caryn) Simkins. He also leaves many extended family members and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by brothers: John Fureigh, Joseph Fureigh, and sister Linda Lee.
