Harry's Obituary

Harry Gene Newby, 95, of Blackton AR left this world for his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born in the rural community of Blackton, on March 16, 1930, and he was the youngest son of Millard and Thelma Newby.  Harry Gene was a graduate of Clarendon High School. He then went on to proudly Serve in United States Navy on the USS Toledo 1950-1954 during the Korean War.

After a time of courtship, Harry was married to Fayerene Smith, and they were privileged to celebrate 54 years of marriage. Their home was blessed with three daughters Theda, Lisa and Linda.

He was Proceeded in death by his parents, Millard and Thelma (Yelvington) Newby; his wife, Fayerene Smith Newby; his big brother, William (Buddy) Newby and Son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Frank. 

He leaves behind his daughters Theda (Greg) Saunders of Conway; Lisa Frank of Little Rock, Linda Smith (Dan) of Sherwood. Nine Grandchildren: Lana McCurley, Charlotte Hicks, BJ McCurley, Lindsey Meyers, Ellie Frank, Gracen Prince, Ashley Lause

Emily Clements, Dillan Saunders, 13 great- grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. 

 

He also leaves behind his dear friend of many years, Robert Hudgins, of Brinkley.
