A good friend, classmate and hunting/fishing buddy.I will miss his laughter

I remember many a fish fry our families would have after my daddy and Mr. Leroy went fishing. One of my fondest memories growing up. Thoughts and prayers with Haley and Ryan as you go through this difficult time.

Haywood 's Obituary

Haywood L. "Leroy" Posey, Jr. of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Wednesday, October 02, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.Funeral services will be held at 11:00am EST Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tommie Hart officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8:00pm at Vance Memorial Chapel. A private interment will be at a later date.Mr. Posey was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the son of Haywood Posey, Sr. (deceased) and his mother Evelyn Woodall Posey. Mr. Posey served his country honorably in the Viet Nam War while enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves. Later he worked for Waste Management as a supervisor until his retirement.In addition to his mother, Mr. Posey is survived by one daughter Haley Posey Carpenter and husband Rick of Phenix City, AL; one son Ryan Posey and his wife Jennifer of Salem, AL; five grandchildren Trent Posey, Parker Posey, Camden Carpenter, Charleigh Carpenter and Libby-Kate Posey.
