I was so very sorry to hear that Peggy had passed. She was fun when we both worked at Newark Valley High School. She was such a kind lady with a great sense of humor. May our Lord wrap His loving arms around you to give you comfort. God Bless!

Helen (Peggy) Arlene Hurd (Strohl), 73, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Little Meadows, PA. She was born on October 10, 1952, in Friendsville, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Rena (Davis) Strohl, and was a proud, lifelong resident of Little Meadows, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her loving son, Keith Hurd, and his wife, Stacey, who will always cherish her memory. Peg also leaves behind her devoted sister, Connie Strohl, and their brother, Alan Strohl, and his wife, Gladys. Peg was sadly preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Toni Hurd, whose battle with cancer ended courageously on January 23rd, 2025, and her two other brothers, Scott and Terry Strohl.
Peg will be remembered most for her holiday cookie trays and making Chocolate Lush for al family gatherings. Her generosity and gentle spirit touched countless lives, making everyone around her feel valued and cared for. Her greatest joy was spending time with her once large, loving family.
She was the cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren (Cody, Lucas, Makayla, Dakota, Hailey, Madison, Christian and Presley) and many great-grandchildren, and she adored every moment she spent with those that went to see her. Peg also treasured her many nieces and nephews.
Per Peggy’s request, there will be no services. Peg’s family will have a quiet service at home.
