When our daughter was young, we went to visit Aunt Helen and Uncle Rob at their home in Missouri. It was a joyful time together with my husband, my dad and stepmom, my grandmother and Uncle Lenny.

One of my favorite things about that trip was watching my aunt take care of all the hummingbirds that flocked to the multitude of feeders she had set up. She fed them several times a day and seemed to be always cooking up more food for them. The reward was dozens of hummers to watch...
