Helen E. Tajak

Helen Tajak (nee Lisek) 96, a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn passed away peacefully January 1, 2016. She is the beloved wife of the late Henry; loving mother of Gregory (Melanie), Bruce (the late Kate) and Russell (Liz); dear grandmother of Dawn, Frank, Andrea, Diane, Lindsay & Robert; great-grandmother of Madeline, Ashton, Nico, Frankie, Samantha, Penelope, Zoe, Aidan, Maeve, Leif & Cara, Eaden, Judah, Gabriel, Titus, Deacon & Abram; Aunt, sister and cousin to many. Beside being a devoted mother and grandmother, Helen worked for a number of years at Gottlieb Arcade & Co. Helen enjoyed sewing and was able to take on anything from curtains and reupholstering couches to dresses and dolls. Baking and cooking were also a passion of Helen's, she made the best fruit pies and she showed off her Polish heritage with kolachki cookies and pierogies from scratch and never left anyone hungry. Helen was an extremely strong and talented woman up to her last day. Visitation for Helen is Thursday Jan. 7th from 4-7 pm. with a service to follow at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St.,Glen Ellyn (630-469-0032).
