My heart goes out to you all, Linda, Donna and Beverly. Aunt Helen was always such a warm, sweet person. God bless you all at this hard time of loss. My condolences and prayers are with you all at this time. Take care and much love to you.

HELEN's Obituary

            Helen Frances Smith Martin Teubner, 94, of Springfield, Missouri, died at 3:13 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Maranatha Village in Springfield, Missouri.

            Helen was born on December 14, 1928, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late George and Josephine Smith.  She attended Holy Name School and graduated in 1947.  Helen was then employed at Hubbard and Vogel Company in Henderson where she worked in account receivable.  In 1950, she was married to James Martin at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Later she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, area where she worked at Harrisonville Telephone Company and then became Secretary of Staff Development at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  She also received her license as an interior decorator.

            Helen was remarried to Charles Teubner who later died of cancer.

            Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George Smith, Thomas Smith, Charles Smith, William Smith, Frank Smith, and James Smith; and her sisters, Sister Frances Josephine Smith, Mary Louise Mingus, Catherine Spalding, Anna Theresa Smith, and Agnes Thurmond.

            Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Hedgecoke and her husband, Dan, Donna Martin-Terry and her husband, Wayne, and Beverly Gates and her husband, Bob; her grandson, Martin Hedgecoke and his wife, Lauren; her great-grandson, Gunnar Hedgecoke; and nieces and nephews.

            Services will be at noon Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Father Christopher Grief will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky.

            Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, and until 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday.
