Helen's Obituary

Helen Vignon, age 91, of Salem and Auburn Nursing Home in Damascus, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Salem Regional Medical Center of Salem. She was born May 8, 1923 in Hanover Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Kufleitner) Bender. She worked as a caregiver and was a member of the Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Her husband, Leroy Vignon, whom she married June 14, 1941, preceded her in death November 24, 1978. A son, Gregory; two sisters, Bertha Gantz, and Mary Kufleitner; five brothers, Sam, John, Herman, Harry, and George Bender also preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Don (Joanne) Vignon; granddaughters, Yvonne (Mike) Lollar, Yvette (Todd) Jester, Jesica Vignon Jackson; grandsons, Scott (Bonnie) Vignon, Jeremy (Rachel) Vignon; seven great granddaughters, and 3 great grandsons. Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 for family, friends and relatives at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Smearsoll officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
