I've known Mrs. Shepard for many years. She and her husband, the late Mr. Shepard would visit Sadie Saulter Elementary School, where their son, Adam, was a student. The Shepard's were very much interested in Adam's progress at school. They were easy to talk to and very eager to help at school in any capacity. Mrs. Shepard, you will be missed in the community and surrounding areas. Adam and family the Lord will give you grace and mercy to go through this most difficult time. Your parents...

Mrs. Helena A. Shepard, age 73, of Greenville, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was the beloved widow of Bobby Lee Shepard.

Helena was born on March 22, 1952, in St. John’s, Antigua, to Florence Greenway and the late Robert Greenway. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Cathedral in Antigua, where her faith was firmly rooted from an early age.

She attended Central High School in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After graduating, Helena moved to the Bronx, New York, to pursue her career. After a few years, she married and later joined her husband during his service in the United States Army. Together, they traveled extensively, and among all the places she lived, Germany held a special place in her heart.

A devoted woman of faith, Helena attended church in every country she visited. She loved the Bible deeply and was known for her ability to quote scripture and thoughtfully answer any questions about God’s Word.  Helena was faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal church.
