Henry Francis "Hank"'s Obituary

Henry Francis May III, 78, of St. Augustine, FL, passed away Thursday, March 30 at Shands Hospital, Jacksonville, FL, surrounded by his wife and children following an extended hospital stay due to heart related complications.  He was born in Philadelphia and raised in Atlantic City, NJ, only to return to Philadelphia as a young adult and later moved to Richboro to raise his two children.  He and his wife moved to St. Augustine, FL, 20 years ago to semi-retire and eventually retire.  In his youth he attended Temple University to study computer sciences.  He spent 21 years in the Air Force National Guard with the 111th division as an anti-sniper sniper, and fire chief at the rank of Tech Sergeant and was based at Willow Grove Naval Air Station.  He owned a General Contracting business for more than 30 years and was a master craftsman.  He was a volunteer for many years as an ambulance driver with the Trevose Heights Rescue Squad. He served as an Assistant Scout Master for more than 5 years with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 240.  He enjoyed camping and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Federica A. May (Carsello); his two children and their spouses Mary (John) McLaughlin of Ashland, MA, Brian (Jennifer) May of Perkasie PA; and two grandchildren Chase Fischer and Anthony May.  Son of the late Harry F. May, Jr., and Marian M. Collins May; and brother to Marilyn M. Becker (late-Robert) of St. Augustine, FL, and the late Charles May (Barbara) of York, PA; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday April 30, 2017, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, PA.  A prayer service will take place immediately following calling hours.
