Henry Meier, Jr., age 89, husband of Dorothy Pendygraft Meier, passed away January 26, 2022 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born March 16, 1932 in North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Henry Meier, Sr. and Amelia Salzman Meier.
Along with his parents, Henry was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Meier and a brother, Herbert Meier.
A retired employee for Johnson Controls, Henry served his country in the U.S. Army and also as a Hospice volunteer. He was an active member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Challenger Sunday school class. His enjoyments included traveling and University of Kentucky sports.
Including Dorothy, his wife of 67 years, he is survived by three children, Janet (husband Buckley) Herrell of Sulphur, KY, Cathy (husband Jeff) Frederick of Strongsville, OH, and Brian (wife Tonya) Meier of Campbellsville, KY; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three brothers, Melvin (wife Diane) Meier of WI, Arnold (wife Harriet) Meier of IL, and Wayne Meier of WI.
A time of visitation will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, Feb. 1st followed by the service beginning at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY. Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
