Henry's Obituary

Henry "Bay" Moore of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Calumet City, Illinois, passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 77.

He was born on April 3, 1948, to Sarah Ivy Moore in Madison, Mississippi, Henry, fondly known as “Bay,” and “Big Daddy” by his family and friends was a proud graduate of Lanier High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.

Henry dedicated over 40 years of his life to an extensive and distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor for the Federal Government. Outside of work, he found joy in listening to the soulful sounds of Howlin’ Wolf, watching sports, and spending time with the people he loved most—his family. Henry was a member of Pearl Street AME Church in Jackson.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Tracy Whittington of Frisco, Texas; sisters, Annie Jones-Ross of Calumet, Illinois and Lillie Dukes of Chicago, Illinois; grandsons, Trent Robinson of Newark, New Jersey, Tuere Brown of Plano, Texas, André Hill of Frisco, Texas, and Henry “Rocky” Moore of Dallas, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Moore and son, Henry A. Moore.
