Henry G. Tutek, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 13, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Florence Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, he had been a resident of Bordentown for the last forty years.
He was a First Lieutenant and commander of the last horse mounted platoon in the U.S. Army 287th Military Horse Platoon in Berlin, Germany in 1957, where they competed against German, French and British riders. Prior to that he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and made thirteen parachute training jumps from a C-119 Aircraft.
He resigned his Army commission, returned to Georgetown University from which he graduated to enter and graduate Law School and practiced law in Bordentown.
Predeceased by his parents George and Mary Tutek, his siblings Helen O’Connor, Annabel Bates, John Tutek, Mary Morrison and George Tutek, his he is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Betty Tutek, his two Sons: Michael Tutek and Patrick Tutek and his wife Abby, his grandchildren: Amelia, Anna and William, Step-sons: William, Dale and Bradley Ethington and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Thursday August 28 at Mary, Mother of the Church, 45 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Jacobstown Cemetery, Schoolhouse Rd, Jacobstown, NJ. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9 am until 10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ.
