Ozzie was a mentor to me when I moved to the USA in 1981 and worked at Rockefeller University. We often shared hotel rooms at laboratory animal conferences, and he always invited me to join him at fancy trade dinners. He introduced me to many of the founders of laboratory medicine in academia and business. After he retired, I would often visit Ozzie and his wife Dee in Las Cruces (but not often enough). Although I never had the opportunity to meet Ozzie I met him vicariously through his daughter Nicole. Nicole was raised by incredible parents or else she would not have turned out as talented and giving as she is.
I extend to Nicole my deepest sympathy and love.
