Horace's Obituary

Horace T. Brooks, 87, of Manchester, NH, passed away on June 29, 2025.

Born in Goffstown, NH, on April 29, 1938, he was the son of Horace T. and Lillian (Boardman) Brooks. He was raised in Billerica, MA, and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School.

He spent twenty-two years in Miami, Florida, working in newspaper sales. After returning to New Hampshire, he continued his professional career as a supplies clerk at Adam Wake and later as a clerk at BJ’s Wholesale Club, where he was known for his diligence and friendly nature.

Horace was a proud member of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and took great pride in tracing his family’s history and lineage. Genealogy was one of his greatest passions.

He was married to his loving and adoring wife of eighteen years, Betty J. Brooks. She died May 1, 1991. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Leland V. Brooks in 1990 and Allen Brooks in 1966.

Family members include his siblings, Barbara Allen of NC, Helen Millette of MA, Janet Brooks of NC, John Brooks of NH, Brenda Collins of VA, Catherine Ferreira of NH, Taffie Saxon of NH, Deborah Brooks of FL, and Edward Brooks of NH, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services: Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4 to 5 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH, with a funeral service immediately following at 5 PM.

Urn burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH, at a later date.
