Hortencia Munoz-Seijas, 71, of Spearman, Texas, passed on June 18, 2025. Hortencia was born on November 01, 1953, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Fidel and Maria Seijas. Viewing will be on June 19, 2025, 10 a.m. until time for Funeral Mass on June 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman, with Father Anthony Swamy Aakula officiating. Rosary will be on June 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be at Hansford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Hortencia Munoz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She showed incredible bravery by immigrating to the US to make a better life for her children. She spent many years caring for her family as they built a life in a new country. Hortencia deeply loved her community and the friends she made within it. She is best remembered for her fiery, vivacious spirit, and her deep love of flowers showcased by her beautifully kept garden.
Hortencia was preceded in death by her husband, Armando Munoz and son, Homero Munoz, bothers, Jesus Seijas, Domingo Seijas, Sergio Seijas, Rafael Seijas and Gonzalo Seijas and sisters, Candelaria Duran and Paulita Seijas, and parents, Fidel and Maria Seijas.
Hortencia is survived by her five children, Eugenio Muñoz and wife, Randa, Luis Muñoz and wife, Patricia, Maria Sibley and husband, Damon, Armando Muñoz, Jr. and wife, Gloria, and Gerardo Muñoz and wife, Lisa. Five sisters, Rafaela Seijas, Concepcion Munoz, Mariana DeLaO, Luz Seijas, and Rosario Munoz, and two brothers, Evidencio Seijas and Pedro Seijas, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Family suggests memorials be made to Hansford Hospice in Spearman or Sacred Heart Catholic Church 901 S Roland Spearman, TX 79081.
