Howard Jessie Moore

Howard Jessie Moore, 100, of Petrolia, Texas passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The family will receive friends between 5 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at FBC in Petrolia, Texas with Pastor Darius McKay, officiating. Interment will follow at Byers Riverside Cemetery in Byers, Texas under the direction of Owens and Brumley of Henrietta.

Howard was born on July 14, 1925 to the late Jessie and May Pauline (Obermire) Moore in Clay County. Howard proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. After returning from his military service, Howard worked 38 years and later retired from Wilson Manufacturing in Wichita Falls. He married Alice Howard and the couple spent 50 wonderful years together and made their home in Petrolia, Texas. They were members of FBC of Petrolia and also, Howard served as Vice-President of the Clay County Pioneer Reunion in 2005. Howard enjoyed many things, checking his cattle with Frank, playing 42, but most of all, spending time with his wife, Alice. Howard will truly be missed by many family and friends and Howard thank you for serving the United States during WWII.

Along with his parents, Howard was preceded in death by two brothers, J.E. Moore and Leonard Moore; and a step-son, Mike Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Moore; two daughters, Connie Berlingeri and Mary Adams and husband; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Moore and wife.
