Howard's Obituary

Mr. Howard Washington, Sr., 70, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.

Celebration Service for Mr. Washington will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at St. Luke Baptist Church located at 2710 Campbell Street in Beaumont, Texas 77703. A public viewing for Mr. Washington will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel and on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Military Burial Service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date, under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. For your safety, Social Distancing and Facial Masks are recommended.

Howard is preceded in death by his father Samuel L. Washington, Sr. (Audrey Washington); mother, Annie Pearl Ruffin; brothers, Jimmy Washington, Samuel L. Washington, Jr., and Sylvester Washington; sisters, Carolyn Washington, Beverly Washington and Linda Cormier Goodwill; and nephew, Royce Thomas.

Howard leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Phyllis Washington; sisters, Lisa Cook (Gregory) of Dallas, Texas, Rose Wilson and Alfreda  Briggs (Lawrence) of Beaumont, Texas; brothers, Donald Washington, Sr (Stella) of Kirbyville, Texas, Dewey Thomas of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Lionel Cormier, Sr. of Houston, Texas; daughters, Barbara Ann Prudhomme of Dallas, Texas, LaKisha Celestain (Korie) and Miracle Morris both of Houston, Texas; sons, Howard Washington, Jr of Silsbee, Texas; Olin Washington, Kenlynn Faulk, and Derrick Washington (Sharray) all of Beaumont, Texas; and Jermany Washington (Alexis) of Pearland,Texas; twenty-six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
