Hubert Monroe “Pete” Collins, III, 49 passed away May 28, 2021 at his residence in Bonneau, SC. He was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and friend.
Pete was born in Nichols, South Carolina, the son of the late Hubert Monroe “Banjo” Collins, II and the late Jeanette Edwards. Pete, per usual, was always on the go. He was the life of the party. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, entertaining family and friends and sitting out by the fire.
Surviving are his three children: Elizabeth (Matt) Floyd, James “Cole” Edwards Collins, (their mother, Debbie Cole Collins), and Hubert (P.J.) Monroe Collins, IV; his three sisters: Timmie A. (Terry) Fowler, Jennifer L. Collins, and Christina M. Collins; his grandson, Matthew Floyd, Jr.; four nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; two uncles, Randell (Janice) Collins of Aynor and Luther “Shorty” Rowell of Loris; and an aunt, Betty Sims of Nichols.
A funeral service for Pete will be held Monday, May 31 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
