The Miles family is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Hugo. We were honored to know him through the Pheney and Lauer families, where he played such an important role in their lives. Even as non-family members, we always felt the warmth and kindness extended by both Kathy and Hugo. His generosity and willingness to help in any situation were truly remarkable. Hugo’s presence will be dearly missed, and we take comfort in knowing that we now have another angel watching over us.

I am so so sorry to hear this news. My condolences and prayers are with you all. Hugo was a one of a kind person. He was always a joy to speak with and be around. A kind kind soul of a gentleman.

Hugo was one of the kindest and most supportive people I have ever known. When Ronny was involved in my theatre productions Hugo was often there, quietly listening to anyone who needed an ear, never offering unasked-for advice, always showing his interest in whatever we happened to be doing. A fine gentleman, he led an exemplary life and will be missed dearly.
